6년간 최대 330억원 지원받아

경북대학교가 교육부 주관 ‘3단계 산학연협력 선도대학 육성사업(이하 LINC3.0)’에 선정됐다. 경북대는 가장 많은 예산이 지원되는 기술혁신선도형에 선정되어 6년간 최대 330억원을 지원받게 된다.

산학연 협력 혁신 생태계 구축을 위한 LINC3.0은 올해부터 6년간 134개 대학에서 추진된다. 일반대는 3개 유형(기술혁신선도형, 수요맞춤성장형, 협력기반구축형) 76개대, 전문대는 2개 유형(수요맞춤성장형, 협력기반구축형) 59개대가 참여하며, 올해는 4,070억원의 예산이 지원된다.

이번 사업 선정으로 경북대는 인력양성과 기술혁신, 공유·협업 과정이 하나의 프로세스로 완성되는 선순환 체계인 ‘KNU CND(Connect&Development) 산학협력 플랫폼’을 구축한다. 이와 함께 지역 주력성장 사업과 대학의 특화 분야를 반영한 5개(글로벌생명소재, ICT융합스마트모빌리티, 첨단 섬유융합소재, 지능형로봇 융합기술, 지능형 광융합)의 기업협업센터(ICC)를 설립·운영할 계획이다. 또한 대학의 검증된 기술이 광역권으로 확산·공유될 수 있도록 부산대, 전남대, 한양대 등과 기술혁신공유대학 플랫폼을 구축해 광역권 대학 중심의 기술혁신 네트워크 공유 기반 구축에 나선다. 이밖에 대학 네트워크 공동 캡스톤디자인연구소 4권역 설립, 글로벌기술사업화센터 설립 및 역량 강화 등의 과제를 추진할 예정이다.

홍원화 경북대 총장은 “지역에 위치한 연구소와 대학에서 진행하는 선진 연구와 원천 기술 개발은 인재 양성으로 자연스럽게 이어지고, 인재가 남을 수 있는 산업체가 존재한다면 지역 발전의 선순환 구조는 완성될 것이다. 경북대는 LINC3.0이 지역은 물론 국가 발전의 밑거름이 될 수 있도록 가장 효율적인 방안을 마련해 운영해 나갈 것이다.”라며 소감을 밝혔다.

KNU to receive up to KRW 33 billion in support over 6 years

Kyungpook National University has been selected for the “Leaders in INdustry-university Cooperation Phase 3 Development Project” (hereafter LINC3.0), hosted by the Ministry of Education. KNU was selected for the Leading Technological Innovation category, which offers the largest support budget, and will receive up to 33 billion won in support over six years.

Starting from this year and lasting for six years, LINC3.0 will be promoted at 134 universities with the aim of building an industry-university-research collaborative innovation ecosystem. The participating
universities include three types of general universities (technology innovation leading, demand-tailored growth, and cooperation-base building), of which there are 76, and two types of professional colleges (demand-tailored growth and cooperation-base building), of which there are 59, with a combined budget of 407 billion won supported for this year.

Through being selected for this project, Kyungpook National University will build the “KNU CND (Connect & Development) Industry-University Cooperation Platform,” a virtuous cycle system that completes the cycle of manpower training, technological innovation, and sharing and collaboration in a single process. In addition, five industry collaboration centers (ICCs) that reflect regional key growth projects and specialized fields of the university will be established and managed: Global Biomaterials, ICT Convergence Smart Mobility, Advanced Textile Convergence Materials, Intelligent Robot Convergence Technology, and Intelligent Optical Convergence. In addition, a technological innovation-sharing university platform will be built with Pusan National University, Chonnam National University, and Hanyang University so that proven technologies of the respective universities can be distributed and shared widely across regional zones, thereby establishing a foundation for sharing technological innovation networks centered on universities in metropolitan areas. In addition, there are plans to promote other initiatives such as the establishment of the four zones of the University Network Capstone Design Joint Research Laboratory, the establishment of the Global Technology Commercialization Center, and the strengthening of related capabilities.

Wonhwa Hong, President of KNU, noted, “Advanced research and source technology development conducted at regional research institutes and universities will naturally lead to the cultivation of human resources, and once there is an industry where such talented people can remain, then a virtuous cycle structure for regional development can be realized. Kyungpook National University will prepare and manage its plan with utmost efficiency so that LINC3.0 can serve as a foundation for regional and national development.”
